Step 1 - What is your Channel about?
Come up with what you want your channel to be about. There are several different topics to cover and genres of what your channel can be about. This is crucial that you choose something you are passionate about. If you don't choose something your passionate about it can get tiresome doing videos that your loathe putting together.
Step 2 - Upload your First Video!
Just get the first one, the rest will snowball from there. Sometimes you overthink and it takes you away from getting your first video out. Once you get the first one out it gets easier from there and your production quality will continue to get better.
Step 3 - Don't over commit
When you get your channel up and start customizing it, it can feel pretty awesome. You may be tempted to put on your banner "New Video Weekly". Although this is important, if life gets away on you and your aren't able to put out a video weekly it will cause you to get down on yourself and you won't enjoy doing the channel anymore. Upload as needed until you get into a good rhythm.
Step 4 - Take your time
Without a doubt, video editing and videos take a time. Before starting your channel take time in thinking about this being something you really want to do. Once you start it becomes another thing in life that you will want to stay on top of. Just ensure you really think about it, before starting.
Step 5 - Don't do it for the money
We look at all these YouTubers driving nice cars and say "I can do that, how hard can it be". This becomes a way of looking at YouTube as another revenue stream, but like everything in life that brings in money, it takes time and patience. You need 1000 subscribers before you can even begin to monetize, but don't get discouraged instead get started.
